Jekyll & Hyde Bristol Reviews.
Carolyn Maitland playing the role of Lucy Harris.
Pellow’s co-star Carolyn Maitland, playing loveable whore Lucy, was such a revelation.
The two ladies in his life, the tragic prostitute Lucy, and Emma, his elegant fiancée, were finely crafted by Carolyn Maitland, a very welcome confident understudy, and Sarah Earnshaw. When the opportunity came for the girls, individually, and to an even greater extent in their duet In His Eyes, to display their vocal talents they took it with both hands.
interest Lucy, played by understudy Carolyn Maitland, were powerful and full of emotion which awed the audience.
Sabrina Carter was unavailable so we were treated to Carolyn Maitland’s Lucy – most delightful, an excellent performance.
Carolyn Maitland as Lucy, the lady of the night befriended by Jekyll and obsessed over by Hyde, were both fabulous. Carolyn is normally a member of the ensemble and as understudy had taken over the role of Lucy from Sabrina Carter on Wednesday evening; she deserves the utmost praise for her performance, her characterisation was perfect and her singing voice exquisite.
